Ford SEMA Show Preview

Farewell Paris hello SEMA. The Specialty E
quipment Market Association (SEMA) is getting ready to open its doors in a couple of weeks (October 31) and so are carmakers. Ford promises us a few surprises as, apart from the usual souped-up cars you see bellow, it's stand will host a group of special Shelby GT500s and the first show appearance for the new 2008 F-Series Super Duty truck.

Ford Edge, Lincoln MKZ & MKX by 3dCarbon: All three cars feature exterior bodykits, chrome window tint from Sundial, lowered suspension kits with new springs and coil-overs, "Katzkin" leather interior with Invision Revolution DVD headrest monitors and three-piece alloys (20 -22") wrapped in Pirelli P Zero tyres. Custom DuPont paint and MagnaFlow stainless steel exhaust tips complete the package of all three cars.

Ford Edge by H&R Special Springs : The H&R Edge uses an H&R Sport Spring kit, Triple C camber adjustment bolts and wheel spacers to drop the body by 2 inches over the Modern Society 22-by-10-inch 305/35WR22 tires. The custom Tangerine Orange paint with Pearl Ghost world graphics is accented by a blacked-out race-look hood, Camtec custom composite front-bumper light pod and Hella Celis lamps with light-emitting-diode halo effect. Finally, the interior wears Wiamea Cliffstone leather seats, door panels and headrests.

Ford Fusion T5 by MRT : The most significant change here is the addition of a Garrett turbocharger to the Fusion's 3.0 V6 engine -no specs available though. Fords mid-size sedan looks are accented by a 3dCarbon body kit, while ride and handling have been modified by H&R coil-over springs, struts and shocks. Boss Motorsports 20-by-8.5-inch Black Chrome wheels wear Nitto 255/35/20 performance tires. A Stainless Steel Brakes Corp. tri-power brake system provides the stopping power. The interior is trimmed in Woodview accents and it also gets a Rockwood audio system.
